Responsibilities
Below is an overview of the main responsibilities you’ll take on in this role.
Develop application features with medium to high complexity using PHP and the Laravel framework.
Design, structure, and optimize backend modules, including database and API management.
Perform both internal and external API integrations, including authentication, authorization, and error handling.
Optimize application performance, including query optimization, caching, and resource management.
Conduct code reviews to ensure implementation quality and consistency.
Write unit tests, integration tests, and ensure functional quality before deployment.
Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and frontend teams during feature development and sprint planning.
Assist in deployment and troubleshooting processes in staging and production environments.
Prepare technical documentation for developed modules or features.
Contribute to improving coding standards, architecture, and development best practices.
Qualifications
The following are the key qualifications and attributes we believe are essential for success in this position.
2–5 years of experience as a PHP Developer, with strong focus on Laravel.
Proficient in key Laravel features such as Eloquent ORM, Service Container, Queues, Events, Jobs, Middleware, and API Resources.
Strong understanding of OOP, MVC, REST API, and common design patterns.
Proficient in SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including query optimization and database modeling.
Familiar with Git and Git workflows (branching strategy, pull requests, code review).
Experience with caching (Redis or similar), job queues, and other backend optimization techniques.
Familiar with Docker, Postman/Insomnia, and CI/CD concepts (a plus).
Able to provide realistic work estimations and deliver according to timelines.
Comfortable working within Agile/Scrum methodology.
