Responsibilities
Below is an overview of the main responsibilities you’ll take on in this role.
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
Manage and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
Ensure application performance, security, and scalability.
Implement authentication, authorization, and access management.
Integrate backend systems with third-party services (e.g., payment gateways).
Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code.
Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and bug fixing.
Collaborate with Front End, QA, and PM Teams to deliver features according to requirements.
Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs and backend systems.
Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of backend applications.
Qualifications
The following are the key qualifications and attributes we believe are essential for success in this position.
Experience:
Strong proficiency in Laravel framework, including Eloquent ORM, queue jobs, middleware, service containers, and scheduler.
Solid experience with PHP and modern backend development practices.
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs using Laravel.
Basic to intermediate experience with Node.js as an additional backend technology.
Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
Experience using Message Broker (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Hands-on experience with Redis for caching, queues, or session management.
Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON.
Experience using version control systems (Git).
Basic knowledge of application security (JWT, OAuth, hashing, etc.).
Experience or familiarity with microservices architecture is a strong plus.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), containers (Docker), or CI/CD is a plus.
